The poem of 'WHEN YOU ARE OLD' is written by the famous poet W.B.Yeats. He was the greatest poet in English language in 20th century.
In this poem the poet addressed his beloved who was most beautiful young lady his time. The poet imagines her future years and his true love in future. The poem begins the first stanza addressing her imagining her to be in her old age.The poet tells that.When you become old and your heir became gray and you having full of sleep in your eyes. And nodding before the fire then take down the book of my poem and slowly read and start taking dream of the soft look in which i loved your inner soul and what glorious beauty your eyes had once and this shows of your deep eyes.
In second stanza poet tells about the present by telling that how many. I have loved your moments of your glad grace and loved your beauty with love which is true and false you don't know. But one man loved the pilligrim soul the inner soul in you(lady) and also loved the sorrow of your changing face, which is lossing it's grace/beauty.
In third stanza the poet tells that of her old age and describe her" Bending down beside the blowing bars murmur to herself a little sadly how love field/and paced upon the mountain overhead/and his face amid a crowd of start" The glowing bars refers to great railing of gonne's hearth. The final lines seem to suggest yeats romantic heart break disturbed and fuddled yet attaining the magnitude of the universe in his feelings.
