Exam Pattern
The KAS exam is conducted in three stages:
1. Preliminary Examination
Objective type (MCQs)
Two papers:
● General Studies Paper I
● General Studies Paper II (CSAT)
2. Mains Examination
Descriptive type:-
7 papers in total, including:
● 2 Compulsory Kannada and English papers (Qualifying only)
● 5 General Studies and Optional Subject papers
Marks of main exam + interview are counted for the final list
3. Personality Test / Interview
Conducted for candidates who clear the mains
Assesses personality, leadership, judgment, and awareness
